Course Objective

The aim of this course is to introduce basic concepts of business law and provide information on general principles governing law of obligations and commercial law. The students are expected to develop their skills of solving legal problems.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explain the proccedure about making a contract
2   Identify the legal issues which can be come across while running a commercial enterprise
3   Attribute the rights and the duties of the merchant
4   Analyse and apply the legal rules in order to solve commercial disputes
5   Identify the types of corporations and the liability of the partners

1 Introduction to business law
2 Fundamental principles of law of obligations
3 The definitions of commercial enterprise and guild enterprise (small scale trade) and the differences of them
4 Some of the main legal transactions related with commercial enterprise: The transfer of commercial enterprise and the pledge
5 The definition and the solutions of commercial work and the presumption of commercial work
6 The difference of commercial work-ordinary work and the work which is a subject of consumer contract
7 Commercial Registery and Registery of Pledged Movables
8 Commercial name, firm name and some basic concepts of intellectual and industrial property rights law
9 The rights and duties of merchant
10 Asistants of merchant
11 Unfair competition
12 Commercial notebooks
13 The types of corporations and their directory
14 The liability of the corporations and their partners
15 Scenario problem solving and case study based on Court od Cassaciton
