Course Objective

The course objective is to inform students on varioys fields of law; to introduce various legal systems; and to familiarize them with the lingual features of various legal texts.

Aybay, Rona (2013) An Introduction to Law, Alfa Basım, Istanbul.
Various texts on the topics specified in the weekly program.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Lectures will be made face-to-face in an interactive way. Students will practice critical thinking and develop reading skills. Reading activities will be performed in a dynamic, critical and effective way, with special emphasis on text types.

There will be one mid-term and one final exam in a term. Students will be given reading texts and assignments on legal issues. Students will be expected to read the texts, to do the assigned homeworks and to participate in classroom discussion.
