Course Objective

To know and determine the rock materials properties, to determine design parameters and analysis methods of surface and infrastructure openings based on rock, to watch earth motion at a certain extend and controlling of these motions effecting on underground and surface structures.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To know rock and material properties.
2   May apply the rock mechanic tests in lab and field work
3   May determine the rock behavior while making underground opening works and saving these openings and to take precautions about this topic.
4   May make necessary works about opening in the rock foundation for structures and saving these structures.
5   May determine the underground openings effecting on the surface and their boundaries.
6   May obtain preliminary information about support, tunneling and shaft lessons.
