Course Objective

The course aims important museums and ancient cities in our country and the world to introduce students to demonstrate their importance and museums for tourism in Turkey.

Week Subject Description 1 The emergence and development stages of museology 2 The development of museology in the world 3 Museology in the Ottoman Empire in Turkey 4 Museum types and definitions 5 Documenting and document museum collections 6 Measures to be taken to exhibit and protect the works 7 Permission and unauthorized excavations and antiquities smuggling 8 Midterm 9 Examples from museums in Istanbul (Hagia Sophia and archeology museum) 10 Examples from Ankara Museums (Anatolian Civilizations and ethnography museum) 11 Museums in Antalya, Antakya and Gaziantep provinces 12 Mevlana and Hacı Bektaş-ı Veli Tomb 13 Ephesus Museum and archaeological site 14 Side- Aspendos and Perge archaeological sites
