Course Objective

The aim of the course is to provide students an understanding of basic concepts of research methodology. The course also provides knowledge on making scientific research as a problem solving tool.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understand a range of research methods, techniques and skills and how they can be used to address particular research questions.
2   Diagnose the related issue; define the problem statement regarding the studies issue; ask the valid research questions. Perform a literature search and write a literature review to describe the studied issue by following established theoretical debates around the status of knowledge claims regarding the studied problem.
3   Design data collection methods, devices to collect, identify qualitative and quantitative data and material. Apply appropriate tools to analyze data.
4   Gain written and oral presentation skills.
5   Be aware of the ethical rules about the research process and learn to adapt.
