Course Objective

This course aims to analyze economics of innovation and technology by focusing on economic development and technological improvements in the world economy. Through out the course, measurement of technological change, basic microeconomic theory of technological change and innovation, importance of technological improvements and and innovation on firm's decisions, the effects of teknological development on economic performance and technology policy making by goverments will be evaluated.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understand basic principles of technological change and innovation in order to evaluate the decision's of firms and consumers
2   To distinguish between microeconomic and macroeconomic impacts of technological chnange in order to analyze the differences between economic performnace of countries
3   To define the impcat of different innovation outcomes in line with different market structures
4   To evaluate different innovation policy outcomes in order to analyze the impcat of technological imporvenets and innovation on different countries
5   To make a presentation by analyzing differet sector and country experiences with technological change and innovation descriptively
