Course Objective

This course will discuss the changing approaches and contemporary theories in museum and cultural heritage studies. First the internationally accepted constitutions, conventions and institutions related to museum studies and heritage studies will be introduced and then the latter concepts will be defined in the context of globalisation, locality and colonialisation. Visiting of museums and cultural heritage sites will be evaluated in relation to experience and cultural performance
