Course Objective

This course aims to provide students an advance level understanding of how certain industry structures form, criteria to differentiate industries, and welfare implications of different organizational forms and market practices.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Provide better understanding on how firm managers minimize costs and maximize profits
2   . Identify different kinds of market structures.
3   . Comprehensively identify firm behavior under a broad range of industry structures
4   Implement research on performance of different industry structures.
5   Compare performance and welfare implications of economic policies on industry level behavior
