Course Objective

The objective of this course is to analyze the impact of public policy on the allocation of resources and the distribution of income in the economy.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to understand basic microeconomic theory tools and be able to understand their applications in public economics settings
2   Be aware of latest developments in public economics and tools for analysis so as to be able to understand empirical applications and policy implications
3   Better understanding on how government intervenes in the economy
4   Explain how the government might intervene.
5   Explain the effects of those interventions on economic outcomes.

5. The learner will present selected topics in public economics.
