Course Objective

At the end of this course, the student will be able to make a critical evaluation of the causes of the crime phenomenon, define an action as a crime, and evaluate the social / cultural framework in which it takes place, and analyze within the framework of the theoretical knowledge learned within the framework of the variables related to crime.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to recognize and differentiate various behavioral typologies called crime and deviance in society.
2   Discuss critically the basic theories that try to explain why people commit crimes.
3   Will be able to discuss different types of crime.
4   Will be able to establish the link between crimino theories and crime typologies.
5   Will be able to follow the global problems and trends regarding the crime phenomenon. To gain a view of social events from a sociology perspective by distinguishing social realities.
