Course Objective

The main objective of this course is to provide an understanding of advanced qualitative methods. The main purpose of this course is to discuss the qualitative method which is designed to gather in-depth information in social science researches.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Firstly, the content of qualitative methods and techniques will be discussed.
2   In the following stages, various case studies with different qualitative methods will be discussed.
3   In the context of qualitative method, a detailed presentation about reliability, validity, in-depth interview, preparation of semi-structured questionnaire, conducting the interview, coding, analysis, interpretation and reporting will be prepared.

9 9. Qualitative Data Collection Techniques: Observation, interview, focus group, research logs.
10 10. Qualitative data analysis techniques: Content analysis
11 11. Qualitative data analysis techniques: Discourse analysis
12 12. Data reduction and coding: first level, relational, thematic and pattern codes and writing research report
13 13. Statistical methods in qualitative data analysis: Maxqda Qualitative Data Analysis
14 14. Statistical methods in qualitative data analysis: Nvivo Qualitative Data Analysis
