Course Objective |
This class deals with the Islamic art within its wider historical and geographical context. Damascus and Jerusalem in the Umayyad period, Cairo of the Fatimids, Seljuksi Memluks, Safavids and Ottomans will be dealt with with as focus on their arts ranging from architecture to textile, manuscripts, minor arts and the specific stylistic properties and iconographic preferences in Islamic art will be determined. |
