Course Objective

Political structuring of Aegean Region and political, cultural relationships with Hittite Empire in the Middle and Late Bronze Age will be examined.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Examination of the Hittite origin-effective findings in the Western Anatolia and Aegean Region
2   2 Examination of the Minoan and Mycenaean origin findings in the Central Anatolia
3   3. To be informed about political formations of Western Anatolia
4   4. The assessment of the cause-effect relationships between Hittites and political formations of Western Anatolia
5   5. Learning of the transport routes between the related regions.

2 Giving of the terminology with related course
3 Describe the general characteristics of Minoan civilization
4 Describe the general characteristics of Mycenaean civilization
5 General Hittite history and their chronology will be given
6 Examination of the Hittite military expedition in chronological order on the Western Anatolia
7 MIdterm examination.
8 Examination of the Hittite texts that provides information about Western Anatolia
9 Reviews of the historical geography data about Arzawa
10 Reviews of the historical geography data about Assuwa, Wilu(s)şa, Tarui(s)şa
11 Reviews of the historical geography data about Ahhiyawa
12 Reviews of the historical geography data about Lukka
13 Examination of the Hittite origin/effective findings in the Western Anatolia and Aegean Region
14 Examination of the findings of Minoan, Mycenaean origin/effective or Western Anatolian origin from Central Anatolia.
15 Final examination.
