Course Objective

The course is designed to provide information about management of transportation services. The course aims to clarify transportation services, transport modes, the place of transportation in the global market, management of transportation services and other strategic issues for management of transportation services. This course also aims to clarify the relationship between transportation services and tourism sector.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understanding the importance and the place of the transportation with the service industry in the global economy and discuss the history of transportation services.
2   Acquiring the service industry and service providing business management in terms of economical, social, cultural and political dimensions; internalizing the customer oriented principle and the particular management processes in the transport industry as wellas managerial practices adopted at the service providing industry; and exhibiting the ability to get involved in discussion in such points
3   Explain the relationship between transportation services and tourism sector and comprehensing the transport services, creating prposals/ ideas about the management of these surfaces and establishing the basis of putting such ideas into practice.
4   Anticipating the likely changes in transport services and discussing the likely effects of such changes
5   Carrying out scientific research about transportation services.
