Course Objective

The aim of the course is to provide information about etiology of several psychological disorders in DSM-5 such as; depressive disorders, anxiety disorders,obsessive compulsive and related disorders,trauma and stressor related disorder, feeding and eating disorders, sexual disfunctions, and Schizophrenia Spectrum and Other Psychotic Disorders, and personality disorders. In addition, an examination of cognitive behavioral models and therapies of these disorders.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to describe basic phenomenological characteristics of several psychological disorders.
2   Be able to comprehend cognitive behavioural models of several psychological disorders.
3   Be able to make cognitive behavioural case formulation based on case examples.
4   Be able to explain cognitive behavioural treatment techniques used for several psychological disorders.
5   Be able to hypothetically adapt cognitive behavioural treatment techniques to the selected case examples.
6   On the basis of the current literature, be able to criticize effectives of the cognitive behavioural treatment techniques used for several psychological disorders.
7   Be able to compare cognitive behavioural models and treatment procedures for the relevant disorders.
