Course Objective

The Turkish Civil Code, adopted in 1926, is one of the most important fundamental laws regarding women's rights and equality between men and women. The changes made in the law over time are also extremely important in terms of reaching the targets in this direction. In this context, the development of women's rights in the Turkish Civil Code and current legal arrangements will be discussed in our course.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To have information about the history and importance of the Turkish Civil Code
2   To have information about the concept of family in Turkish Civil Code and the position of women in the family
3   Gaining the skill of evaluating the regulations on the protection of the family and women in the Turkish Civil Code
4   Gaining the ability to evaluate the regulations on equality between women and men in the Turkish Civil Code
