Course Objective

In this course, the reflections of gender in media and analysis about media with a critical point of view in related subject is aimed. To make students aware of the dangers of culturally inherited gender stereotyping and the medias role in perpetuating gender stereotypes.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to get knowledge on how media reflects gender
2   Be able to get knowledge about how women represented in media
3   Be able to get the critical perspective about the gender issues on mainstream media
4   Be able to get knowledge about gender stereotypes
5   The ability to analyze, the Images of Women and men in Media drawing on their knowledge of its historical and cultural context.
