Course Objective

It is aimed to analyze the importance of the budget, which is the fiscal instrument of the state in ensuring gender equality, within the scope of gender responsive budgeting approach. In this context, it is aimed to comparatively examine the development of gender responsive budgeting approach at local and central government levels in developed and developing countries and Turkey.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to evaluate budgeting from a gender perspective and to offer solutions in both theory and practice,
2   To be able to evaluate the socioeconomic rationale and historical development of the gender responsive budgeting approach,
3   To be able to analyze public fiscal policies at national and international level in ensuring gender equality,
4   To be able to comprehend the importance of budgeting in solving the problems faced by women in socioeconomic life,
5   To be able to carry out interdisciplinary studies with the knowledge gained in one s field
