Course Objective

The objective of this course is to open the discussion of the notion that gender has "history" as a phenomenon that is not shaped by the opposition of nature and culture but simultaneously and dialectically by means of culture and nature.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To explain that male and female differences cannot be handled only in essentialist way.
2   To analyze that "sex" has a dynamic and variable identity in human history.
3   To analyze how gender reflects the spirit of time metaphorically.
4   To discuss that "sex" and "gender" are not invariant and static phenomenons.
5   To evaluate that "gender" representation is a "narrative".
