Course Objective

The objective of this course is to examine the historical development of women s human rights; the regulation of women s human rights in international and national law; women s civil, political, economic and social rights, equality between man and woman, the prohibition of discrimination against women, positive action for women, the elimination of violence against women and the jurisprudence in the field of women s human rights.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to explain women s human rights and equality between man and woman in the context of human rights law.
2   To be able to evaluate the national and international regulations in the field of women s human rights and gender equality.
3   To be able to interpret the concepts of gender equality, women s human rights, the prohibition of discrimination against women, positive action and the gender stereotypes.
4   To be able to explain the relationship between the gender equality, women s human rights and violence against women
5   To be able to analyse the jurisprudence in the field of women s human rights and gender equality.
