Course Objective

The aim of the course is to examine how business the processes work together through busines applications inside and outside the firm through the modular systems of business applications, i.e. ERP and related applications.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understand need for an integrated business application to manage the processes as a whole.
2   Define the historical background of ERP systems
3   Identify the business application requirements of an enterprise.
4   Describe the steps for preperation for ERP system.
5   Integrate all main business functions (marketing, finance, production, ...) for meeting the customer expectations efficiently and effectively.
6   Select the true application system for an enterprise.
7   Analyze the implementation phase of ERP system.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

1. Exams are applied to see students knowledge about fundamentals of business resource management.
2. Class discussions will be performed through ERP case studies and participation level will be evaluated during discussions.
3. Project will evaluate the performance on real life analysis of business resource applications used in an enterprise.

Assessment Criteria

1. Midterm and Final Exam: Students will be assessed on their knowledge of concepts and theories through an essay-type written exam.
2. Term Project: Groups will do an observation in a real business environment about enterprise architecurr and prepare a written report based on the format given by the instructor. They are expected to share their observation with their class-mates through oral presentations.
3. Class Discussions and Presentation: Students will be given certain cases or questions related to the concepts covered in the class. Groups will debate on the topics and present their opinions. Students are expected to contribute to class discussions.

1. Attending at least 70 percent of lectures is mandatory.
2. Plagiarism of any type will result in disciplinary action.
