Course Objective

Understanding the intellectual and the industrial ownership rights,their extent and the differences between them.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understanding the basic concepts of intellectual and ownership rights, seizing the relationship with each other and decomposing it
2   Learning the pros and cons of protection of the intellectual and the industrial ownership rights, having information about the countries who provide protection and do not in terms of innovation
3   Having information about the intellectual and ownership rights within the frame of WTO and international agreements.
4   Understanding the process of patent,brand and geographical signature registration; having information about the other protection types of the rights protected without registration
5   Learning the systems of international protection of the intellectual and the ownership rights

2 Patent law:history,purpose,concept of finding and patent attributality,owner of finding and right
3 Patent law: Patent Model application,giving Patent,kinds of Patent and obligaion of usage,the right as a result of Patents and limitations
4 Patent law: License of Patent, Term,Nullity,way of Protection
5 Concept of Know how, the right it provides,Protection
6 The rights provided by industrial designs
7 Protection of the right provided by integrated term Topographies (Midterm exam will also be held this week after course hour)
8 New plant types Breeder s right and Protection
9 Law of Intellectual Property Rights: History,Production concept,processing computer programs as productions,ownership rights, related rights, contracts about products,limits of protection
10 Brand Law: Concept, Types,Function and Classification, registration of brand
11 Brand Law: Extent of the Brand Right its Protection and Limits
12 Brand Law: Brand License and term agreements, nullity of brand
13 Intellectual Industrial Ownership and Competition relations
14 Registration and Protection of International Brand and Patent

Assessment Criteria

The average of the grade in year and final must be 75 or above,
Student must be in a position in which s/he has studied and prepared the subjects and cases, and s/he must be ready to argue and evaluate over subject of the week,
Student must be in a position in which s/he has understood and had ability to interpret the intellectual and the ownership rights,
Student must be in a position in which s/he can analyze the role and differences of the rights within the framework of the intellectual and the ownership rights, and which right serves to which need.
