Course Objective

The course aims to help the learner to become familiar with the nature and organization
of agricultural and food markets by applying economic theory to issues related to
agricultural and food production.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Describe the role of agriculture in economic system and economic development.
2   Demonstrate an understanding of the roles of institutions, participants and networks in agricultural sector at the national and international level.
3   Examine the evolution and role of public policy in shaping agricultural sector.
4   Compare different policy tools used in agricultural sector.
5   Apply knowledge of economic analysis tools to assess the economic outcomes of public policy actions in agriculture.
6   Participate in class discussions with colleagues.
7   Value illingness to work independently.
