Course Objective

The course aims to guide PhD students through stages of research, from forming reseacrh question , reading, researching, writing and publishing.This class is designed to teach the students the tools they need to know to be successful researchers in economics , including the stages of research process and writing.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Confidently concieve, formulate and motivate a reseacrh project, from teh research questions to teh choice of data analysis approaches.
2   Show understanding of major reseacrh methods and make use and interpret the results of quantitative reseacrh techniques.
3   Critically analyze a scientific reserach in social sciences.
4   Identify and conduct teh appropriate techniques for diferent kinds of reseacrh questions using specific programs
5   Learn critical thinking
6   Show ability to write scholarly papers
7   Participate in class discussions with colleagues.
8   Value a willingness to work independently

2. the learner will learn how to crtically read a scholarly article
3. the learner will be able to point out appropriate research tools for different esearch questions,
4. the learner will be able o write a research proposal.
5. the learner will be able to write a literature review.
6. the learner will be able to demonstrate competence in presenting research results.
7. the learner will show competence in preparing a research manuscript for publication.
