Course Objective

This lesson aims to teach the concepts of the Qur'an and its tafsir, the history of the Qur'an, the beginning of tafsir and the compilation of the Qur'an, and to teach the types of tafsir and some texts on these tafsir types.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   student learns basic concepts of exegesis. 2   learns about the types of tafsir. 3   reads texts on different types of tafsir. 4   learns the history of the Qur'an and the treatment of tafsir. 5   learns about the Qur'an in terms of language and style.
