Course Objective

Acquire the knowledge about tinnitus and treatment methods.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to perform audiological evaluation of the patients with tinnitus.
2   To be able to do assessment of the physcometric features of tinnitus patients.
3   To be able to plan and apply appropriate therapy methods to the tinnitus patients.
4   To be able to evaluate the success of the treatment.
5   Acquire to knowledge hearing losses related to noise.

3 The neurophysiological model of tinnitus and decreased sound tolerance
4 Development of the neurophysiological model of tinnitus
5 The mechanism of tinnitus habituation and the neurophysiological basis for tinnitus retraining therapy
6 Tinnitus retraining therapy (TRT): clinical implementation of the model
7 Specific modifications for individual treatment categories

9 Critical overview of selected tinnitus treatments
10 Tinnitus in the Elderly Patient
11 Hearing Protection for the Retired Adult
12 Treatment of medical conditions associated with tinnitus and hyperacusis
