Course Objective

The target of the lesson is to provide the knowledge and skills about hearing measurement techniques, learning the speech and language development stages, evaluating auditory perception and maintaining rehabilitation programming in the pediatric population with hearing aids and/or cochlear implants.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To practice and to comment of the advanced audiologic laboratory techniques
2   To take a role in the training of audiologists and audiometrists
3   To prepare the settings of a new paediatric audiology clinic
4   To obtain accurate information about hearing and balance function via behavioural, electrophysiologic and psychosocial assessments
5   To interpret audiological test results
6   To perform and manage the audiological process in the newborn hearing screening program
7   To perform audiological evaluation of children with hearing aid and cochlear implant, to follow up their speech and language developments by means of various questionnaires and tests

8 Childhood central auditory processing disorders
9 Pediatric aural rehabilitation
10 Counseling families of children with pediatric sensorineural hearing loss

12 The settings of a new paediatric audiology clinic.
13 To whom have been applied cochlear implantation, when have been applied it And selection of suitable candidates for cochlear implantation
14 To follow up the children with cochlear implant audiologically
