Course Objective

The objective of this course is to improve the student s knowledge about translation methods and to work on the translation and assessment of translated literary texts.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   By the end of this course students will be able to analyze literary texts for translation purposes;
2   To evaluate stylistic equivalence of literary translations;
3   To use methods of quality assessment in order to assess literary translations;
4   To define problems and translator s choices in literary translation;
5   To use methods of translation criticism.
