Course Objective

The objective of this course is to study American Literature in terms of the dialectics of Enlightenment and to analize the mythic elements that are paradoxically inherent to Enlightenment.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To distinguish counter-discourses inherent to literary works, 2   To interpret American literature in the frame of philosophy, 3   To analize the mythical structures of literary texts, 4   To analize the potential of the transition from rationality to myth, 5   To analize literary texts by culturally-critical methods.
