Course Objective |
The purpose of this course is to expose the students to the critical works with which they will more easily understand and evaluate the American novel from the Civil War to the second half of the 20th century. The novels will be examined in their social, political, and cultural contexts. Emphasis will be given to the representative masterpieces through which the students are invited to decipher the milieu of the works. |
