Course Objective

It was aimed to learned parasite culture media. It will be given theoretical lessons and applications about in vitro, in vivo culture media.

1   Define culture media, explain usage in parasitology and apply
2   Classify and apply in vitro protozoon culture media, relate culture results to patient s clinic
3   Define in vivo culture media used in parasitology
4   State and discuss usage of cell culture in parasitology
5   List culture media used for helminth identification

1 Culture media, explain usage in parasitology and types of culture media.
2 Types of culture media of amoebae, usage axenic cultivation in parasitology
3 Usage xenic and the other type of amoebae media.
4 Types of Trichomonas culture media and principle of using
5 Types of Leishmania culture media and principle of using
6 Types of Acanthomoeba culture media and principle of using
7 Other protozoon culture media (Giardia, plasmodium) and principle of using
8 In vivo kültürlerde protozoonların üretimi (Toxoplasma, plasmodium, leishmania vb)
9 In vivo culture media used for helminth identification
10 Principle of cell cultivation and types of cell cultivation
11 Usage of cell culture in parasitology
12 Detection and reproduction of nematod larvae
13 Evaluation of Schistosoma life cycle via experimental methods
14 Insectarium and usage of insectarium
