Course Objective

General properties in helmints, morphological structure, associate with disease, diagnosis,prevention to them and also more important helminth disesae in Turkey.

1   Define major properties of helminths and classify them
2   Define major properties of nematodes
3   Outline nematodes living in different body parts and associate with diseases
4   Define major properties of cestodes
5   Outline cestodes living in different body parts and associate with diseases
6   Define major properties of trematodes
7   Outline trematodes living in different body parts and associate with diseases

1 Major properties of helminths, classifIcation and diagnosis them
2 Major properties of nematods and intestinal nematods 1 (A. lumbricoides and E. vermicularis)
3 Intestinal nematods 2 (Strongyloides and Tricostrongiloides)
4 Intestinal nematods 3 (Hookworms and T. trichiura)
5 Blood and tissue nematods 1 (Visceral and cutaneous larva migrans)
6 Blood and tissue nematods 2( Trichinella species)
7 Blood and tissue nematods 3 ( W. bancrofti, B. malayi Oncocerca volvulus, Loa loa,)
8 Major properties of cestods, their larvae and intestinal cestods 1 (Taenia spp)
9 Intestinal cestods 2 (H. nana ve D. latum)
10 Liver cestods (Echinococcus species)
11 Major properties of trematods and lung trematods
12 Intestinal trematods ( F. buski, H. heterophyes ve E. ilocanum)
13 Liver trematods (Fasciola hepatica ve D. dendriticum)
