Course Objective

Learning to morphological properties of protozoa, their epidemiology, clinical properties of the disease related to these parasites and also learning to diagnosis, treatment and prevention

1   Define major properties of protozoa and classify them
2   Classify pathogen, nonpathogen and free-living amebas and associate with diseases
3   List intestinal and urogenital protozoa other than amebas and associate with diseases
4   List protozoa living in blood and tissue and associate with diseases
5   Define protozoa living in respiratory system and explain with diseases
6   List protozoa important in immunosupression and associate with diseases

3 Apathogen intestinal amoebea and the other apathogen protozoon

5 Opportunistic intestinal protozoon ((B. hominis, D. fragilis ve Cryptosporidium, Sarcocystis, Isosporidium, Cyclospora) and associate with diseases
6 Microspora and ciliophora and associate with diseases
7 Giardia intestinalis and associate with diseases
8 Trichomonas species and associate with diseases
9 Pneumocystis jirovecii and associate with diseases
10 Toxoplasma gondii and associate with diseases
11 Plasmodium species and associate with diseases
12 Babesia species and associate with diseases
13 Leishmania species and associate with diseases
14 Trypanosoma species and associate with diseases
