Course Objective

The aim of the course is the examination of shooting and training techniques in Archery and application of modern techniques for target archery shooting and training.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to learn archery supplies
2   Be able to describe and use ses archery supplies.
3   Gain skills in explaining the rules of the competition.
4   To exhibit the technique of shooting at different distances.
5   Be able to evaluate and describe the technique and score.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 History of Arhery, Safety in Arhery And Regulations
2 Basic Archery Teaching Levels
3 Bow and bow types. Risers, types and sizes
4 Recurve Bow equipments and functions.
5 Limbs and building materials. Limb types and sizes. Compound Bow.
6 Teaching the basic skills: Stand, push, draw, anchor position and release control.
7 Arrow and Arrow Types. Archer equipments and functions. Archery Game Rules
8 Mid Term
9 Correct Bow Selection. Arrow lenght and bow size. Stabilizers.
10 String, Brace height. String materials and number of strands. Serving Materials. String Making.
11 Bow tuning. Plunger, Tuning of clicker and arrow rest.
12 Tuning of no ck point and plunger. Compound bow tests.
13 Fine Tuning. Arrow selection. Arrow cutting, fletching, nocking and point selection. Spine in archery.
14 Final
