Course Objective

The fundamental aim is to gain the students with maritime traditions and commons, critical and analytical thinking, self-discipline, self-confidence, social responsibility, team working, lifelong learning, managerial and leadership qualifications.The Department is provide for performing scientific research as projects, most of the projects are about port operations, environmental management and maritime efficiency.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. In close contact with the recent developments in maritime issues, the learner improves and expands his/her knowledge, skills and attitudes at a mastering level; developing self-studying and life-long learning abilities and following the updated scientific, technological, social and cultural advances, gains a high level of discussing interpreting and assessing through critical out view.
2   2. Has the ability carry out sea transport related maters individually, developed new strategic approaches enabling to solve unpredictable problems with a sense of responsibility to solve any lively problems.
3   3. With mastering level of information concerning international maritime conventions, national and international marine law, risk assessment and minimizing practices factors affecting maritime business processes, cargos carried ship security and crew safety assessment and environmental protection practices, the learner develops strategies, policies and implementation plans and evaluates the implementations from the point of quality management system.
4   4. Gains and advances level of motivation-related knowledge along with effective means of communication and producing, improving and changing norms where needed with a high level of leading qualification.
5   5. Abilities to design and apply models based on experimental research and to interpret and solve unpredictable shipping problems.
6   6. Gets able to apply diverse research methods on sea transport and maritime business, having acquired the interdisciplinary relations, and doing so, able to support the research findings through qualitative as well as quantitative data, interpret them through information process skills, produce new knowledge and share it with related parties and national and international platforms.

1. Methods and techniques: the scope and breadth of the literature that utilized when homework/presentation prepare
2. modeling correct to methods used: stage of the preparation of homework/ presentation and presentation.
3. Understanding of professional and ethical responsibility: Making reference to the care and honesty, compliance with scientific guidelines.
4. Team Studies Compatibility: Sharing the results obtained with teammates on the stage of decision; communicate, solidarity, collaborate and making cooperation with those from different areas of expertise; formulate a solution.
