Course Objective

The aim of this course is; to explain the basic concepts related to museum and museum education in the historical process and to understand the role of museums in the preservation and transfer of cultural heritage by revealing the relation between museum-society, museum-art, museum-culture and civilization.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Through reading assignments, discussions, and class activities students will: To be able to express basic concepts about museums and museology,
2   To be able explain the relationship between museum-art, museum-society, museum-culture,
3   To be able to grasp the contribution of history of museum education to history,
4   To be able to understand the development of museums in the world and Turkey.
