Course Objective

The course aims to give main source of waters, occurrence of surface and groundwaters, which are storage in geological layers and production technique

1   To identify the main information of hydrogeology 2   To describe the main mechanism of groundwater flow and flow properties 3   To know the resource and operate methods of groundwater 4   To identify the aquifer hydraulic properties 5   To calculate the well hydraulic parameters

Week Subject Description 1 Main objectives of hydrogeology and water cycle 2 Distribution of groundwater 3 The groundwater flow patterns 4 Groundwater flow in porous and fractured environment 5 Aquifer types, confined and unconfined aquifer 6 Various rock aquifers; fractured rocks, porous and karstic aquifers 7 Mid term exam 8 Darcy's law: defining the hydraulic parameters of the aquifer 9 Well hydraulics 10 Water well hydraulic parameters 11 Calculation of hydrological parameters 12 Giving the methods for groundwater management and research 13 Field Study; field investigation of various aquifers and water resources 14 Field Study; Well tests and examination of wells

The course is taught in a lecture, class presentation, discussion and field observation format. Lecture gives subject and students discuss and prepare some presentation and all students discuss each other.
