Course Objective

The purposes of the course are to define the basic concepts of technical drawing, to extract the views of an object and to draw perspectives by using views of an object.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to use the technical drawing tools appropriately.
2   Ability to draw picture according to size and characteristics on technical papers.
3   Ability to apply the standart line and text types.
4   Ability to define the projection planes, projection types and view extraction methods.
5   Ability to describe the extraction of views of basic shapes, prism and pyramids.
6   Ability to draw perspectives by using the views.
7   Ability to read the section to draw projects and draw cross sections of bodies according to the rules of technical drawing

Course Contents

1 Introduction, description and importance of technical drawing.
2 Technical drawing tools, papers and scales.
3 Text and numbers, text applications, lines and line types, line applications.
4 Geometric drawings, polygon drawings.
5 Projections; point, straight line, projection of planes.
6 Extraction of the views, detection of track position, view types, detection the number of views.
7 Drawing of the objects with single view and two views.
8 Application.
9 Mid-term exam.
10 Drawing of the objects with three views.
11 Description and types of perspective.
12 Drawing the perspectives of basic geometrical shapes.
13 Scaling perspectives.
14 Application.
