Course Objective

To Recognize and determine the material properties of rocks, rock-based deficits in aboveground and underground structures and methods of analysis to determine design parameters and, to a limited extent in the movement to monitor and control the effects of these movements to ground and underground structures.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To know properties of rocks and materials.
2   To apply the the physical, thermal, mechanical test in laboratory
3   In order to open gaps in the protection of underground openings in rock behavior and to take necessary measures on these issues determine
4   To take measures it necessary for the constructions when it opens in rock at the above ground.
5   Determine the effects and limits to ground, underground cavities
6   Fortification, tunnels and wells acquire preliminary information on vocational courses

The course is taught in a lecture, class presentation, discussion and field observation format. Lecture gives subject and students discuss and prepare some presentation and all students discuss each other. Additionally some tests apply in laboratory
