Course Objective

Teaching of 3-dimensional modeling and drawing of jewelry parts via Rhinoceros program, and rendering model jewelry parts.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to understand general logic of 3d modelling.
2   To be able to explain steps of jewelry manufacturing.
3   to be able to model rings, braceltes and necklaces using Rhinoceros program.
4   To be able to transform 2-dimensional object to 3-dimensional objects.
5   To be able to render 3-dimensional modelled object.

1 Introduction to Rhinoceros program, Zoom, Pan,Command Line usage,menus, mods shade-wireframe views.
2 Weeding ring modelling, menu-curve commands, extrude, solid,mirror,offset curve,profile desciption, trim,join,explode commands.
3 Prong modelling,pave based pendant modelling, boolean operations,copy,move, rotate,delete,mirror,line,curve,arc,circle commands.
4 pendant modelling, surface commands loft, sweep1, sweep2, revolve,rail-revolve commands.
5 Texted key-chain modelling, text, bend, rotate,commands, surface commands: curve network,patch, blend,orient-on-curve-surface commands.
6 Gemstone cluster earrings modelling, import, insert,object properties commands.

8 Midterms
9 Organic broach modelling, control points, rebuild, extract isocurve, solid box,sphere,cone, ellipsoid, curve on surfave commands.
10 School-ring modelling, surface commands, duplicate border, pullback commands.
11 Render menu,render properties, object properties, materials, twisted bracelet modelling, bend, twist commands. Modify render images in other image processing tools.
