Course Objective

The aim of this course is to teach the basic concepts of analytical chemistry and the process steps of the volumetric and gravimetric methods.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to sort the process steps of gravimetric analysis.
2   To be able to specify the basic principles of volumetric analysis.
3   To be able to make the necessary calculations for the preparation of the buffer solution.
4   To be able to determine the amount of acid or base in solution using volumetric method.
5   To be able to draw the titration curve using the methods of volumetric analysis.
6   To be able to sort the methods of precipitation titrations.
7   To be able to define the applications of the complexation titrations.
8   To be able to specify the applications of oxidation-reduction titration.

6 The precipitation titrations and its applications

9 The equilibrium of complex formation in aqueous solution
10 Applications of complexometric titration using EDTA
11 Complexometric indicators used in titrations, the analytical applications of EDTA
12 An introduction to electrochemistry, the calculations of redox equilibrium constants

14 Permanganimetry and iodometry titrations and their applications
