Course Objective

The aims of this course are teaching the general form of shoe, lecturing the kinds and the technical data on production methods by utilizing from visual presentation and teaching the information for shaping rubber by practicing.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learn the basic information on lower extremity and foot anatomy
2   Have the basic information on the general shape of the shoe last and the kinds, perform research and present this research
3   Have the basic information on the general shape of the heel and the kinds, perform research and present this research
4   Have the basic information on vamp, types of vamp, stitching methods and the production process of vamp
5   Have the basic information for shaping rubber
6   Have the basic information on shoe production process

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Explaining the topic title that will be taught in autumn term. Assigning the project topics.
2 Explaining the basic information on lower extremity and foot anatomy and using visual presentation
3 Info- transfer on what a shoe is, the general form of a shoe, demographical classification of shoe and visual presentation (power-point)
4 Info- transfer on what a shoe last is, the general types of a last, the last production process and presentation of samples
5 Theoretical info- transfer on what a shoe sole is, the sole production process, what a heel is, types of heel, the heel production process and presentation of visuals (power-point)
6 Info- transfer on what vamp is, the types of vamp
7 Theoretical info- transfer on vamp production process and presentation of visuals (power-point)
8 Mid-term exam
9 Theoretical info- transfer on types of accessories used in shoe production, usage areas and visual presentation (power-point)
10 Visual presentation (power-point) for theoretical info- transfer on shoe production process
11 Theoretical info- transfer on shaping rubber process and presentation of visuals (power-point)
12 Lecturing the last banding method in shaping rubber process and a sample study of the lecturer
