Course Objective

This course aims to introduce glass shaping methods, material and its applications.

1 Definition and classification of the glass
2 Introduction to Glass forming techniques,the inner mold and blowing techniques
3 Glass casting techniques "mold casting, sand casting, pressing technique"
4 Glass forming techniques in Kiln "Kiln casting"
5 Glass forming techniques in Kiln "pate de verre
6 Glass forming techniques in Kiln "mosaic glass technique, murinne, (millefiori)
7 Glass forming techniques in Kiln " sink, fusion and Lampworking
8 Mid-Term exam
9 Cold glass forming techniques "cut glass, acid etching, sand etching, the diamond tip etching, sculpting
10 Joining techniques "stained glass, tiffany, dalle de vere"
11 Decorative techniques "Adding and wrap parts, cracking, a watermark, Graal, incalmo"
12 Decorative techniques lamelles- plaguettes, marquetry, dust decor
13 Decorative techniques "Enameling, painting, the inner painting, painting under glass, iridescent glass"
