Course Objective

It s aimed to teach the methods of designing ceramic forms and patterns by use of software and also teach skills for creating ingenious designs and producible industrial outputs by these methods.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of this course these qualifications will be expected from the student; To have basic information about CAD (Computer Aided Design) modeling methods.
2   To be capable of creating innovative designs by the use of computer aided design (CAD) software.
3   To gain self competence about creating the projects via different methods.
4   To be capable of understanding and describing vocational terminology and notions about CAD.
5   To gain problem solving abilitiy among sketching and application phases by use of making time schedule.

1 Introducing of software interface, view commands and viewports. Decleration of the first project.
2 Design sketching and reviewing.
3 Design sketching and reviewing.
4 Displaying free hand sketches or photographs on computer.
5 Edit, image and select commands.
6 Reviewing design methods.
7 Reviewing design methods.
8 Image and layer commands. Colorization commands.
9 Decleration of the second project. Design review of the first project.
10 Channel command and colorization.
11 Channel command and colorization.
12 Creating modular designs.
13 Creating modular designs.
14 Presentation.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Lecturer will guide students about creating designs digitally via teaching computer aided design methods and also inform about the problems that may occur. Course to be given includes designing, defining and solution methods of problems, and basic information about various software. Also students will be responsible for final presentation and exhibition.
