Course Objective

The aim of this course is to examine the early samples of Asian and European textiles which have an important place in the world s textile history, and indicate artistic interaction between cultures.

1   be informed of the textile art history,
2   identify the design features of Asian textiles,
3   identify the design features of European textiles,
4   make new designs by inspiring these styles
5   make up collections and present them

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

In this course, the students will make use of the instructor s lesson notes and resource researches. They are also expected to make visual presentation and application studies in workshops under the supervision of the instructor.
