Course Objective

The aim of this course is to make designs and applications starting with natural objects after examining the historical style features and origin of patterns and compositions in court fabrics which are the most important one in our traditional fabric art.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   define the technical and pattern features of court fabrics,
2   define the style features of patterns and compositions in court fabrics,
3   know the rules for basic textile design,
4   make new textile designs conforming to the style of court fabric patterns,
5   make up a collection and represent it.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The students will make use of the lesson notes and researches of the instructor in this course. They will also perform a visual presentation, and their application works will be realized in the workshop under the supervision of the instructor.

80 % attendance is compulsory. Workshop study is significant. Design applications should be completed in the lesson.
