Course Objective

The aim of this lesson is to introduce the fabric belonging to Palace, to mention about the weaving, tecnique and pattern characteristics of the fabrics between 15th and 20th centuries, and to instruct how Palace fabrics influenced the weaving art.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Know the characteristics of the Palace fabrics in different centuries ( from 15th till 20th )
2   2. Learn the characteristics of colour, pattern and composition used in Palace fabrics
3   3. Understand the difference of Palace fabrics in accordance with centuries
4   4. Understand the reasons for change in these fabrics
5   5. Comprehend how Palace fabrics influenced the weaving art
6   6. Do researches for written and visual sources on Palace fabrics
7   7. Present his/her study in the light of the knowledge he/she has gained

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

After teaching the historical period of Palace fabrics, we will emphasize some fabric samples between the 16th and 19th centuries. Moreover, we plan to have the students identify different colour, pattern and composition features of these fabrics and discuss them.
