Course Objective

The aim of this course is to examine the historical style features and origin of patterns and compositions in court fabrics which are the most important one in our traditional fabric art.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   define the fabrics which are of historical importance,
2   know the technical features and names of court fabrics,
3   be informed of the fabric trade of the time,
4   define the patterns and compositions in court fabrics,
5   make new designs in the court fabric style.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The students will make use of the lesson notes and researches of the instructor in this course. They will also perform a visual presentation, and their application works will be realized in the workshop under the supervision of the instructor.
