Course Objective

The aim of this course is to support the students academically for their artistic studies in the field they want to specialize, and have them make some pattern designs and practices in addition to Certificate Study.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   After the education given by this course, students are supposed to be informed of the historical development of miniature art and to analyze periodical differences,
2   visualize miniature paintings as designed products,
3   define and apply unique miniature painting principles and techniques
4   solve problems that can occur during the process of design and production,
5   produce at least 3, the maximum 6 unique miniature paintings in various sizes.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

In this course, after scanning books and articles related to the subject to be studied, an analyse will be made based on the samples having periodic features related to miniature art. The analyse will form a base for original designs.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

The students studies are evaluated as a project and they will perform these studies before a jury. Their presentation performance and studies will be evaluated separately.

Assessment Criteria

The project and the presentation will be evaluated out of 100 separately. The 60 % of the grade given to the project and the 40 % of the presentation will determine the pass grade.

Course Policies and Rules

The compulsory attendance is 80%.
Before the end of the term, in the last 15 days, students will be able to learn their attendance. the project of students having absenteeism over 80% will not be taken into evaluation.
Students who come to the class until 5 minutes late after the course starts may attend the lesson. But the ones coming later may not. Even if they attend the course, they will be considered absent. Absentee is checked every 2 hours.
Students who are on sick leave will be considered absent.
