Course Objective

The aim is to support the students academically for their artistic studies in the field they want to specialize, and have them make some pattern designs and practices.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   reach the resources related to textile conservation and restoration,
2   cite the information in the resources in accordance with their own fields,
3   do the documentation study of a textile article that is in the protection period,
4   determine the process stages to be applied for a textile article in the protection period,
5   write a report (result) about their studies,
6   cooperate with other disciplines related to their fields, in the protection period.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

In this course, the documentation stages of a textile article in the protection period will be applied. Also, a detailed analyze will be made and a report (result) will be written about the article by fixing production methods and techniques and the deterioration reasons of textile articles for conservation.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

The students studies are evaluated as a project and they will perform these studies before a jury. Their presentation performance and studies will be evaluated separately.

Assessment Criteria

The project and the presentation will be evaluated out of 100 separately. The 60 % of the grade given to the project and the 40 % of the presentation will determine the pass grade.

Course Policies and Rules

The compulsory attendance is 80%.
Before the end of the term, in the last 15 days, students will be able to learn their attendance. Students having absenteeism over 80% won t be accepted to the final exam.
At the end of each course, the next lesson s subject is given to the students as study and research subject. So, students come to the next lesson ready.
Students who are on sick leave will be considered absent.
